Revelation

I looked upon a sky so still so clear
O’er mountains aged and worn in starlit time
Alight in stunning blue beyond them reared
Those purest wisps of life in gentle climb

Upon the vale their shadows slowed to drift
And lay on ancient oak in silent hold
As gathered from their mist some holy gift
Which fell upon the tree, some secret told

So swift revealed the ancient mind awoke
So whispered loving, branch and bough renewed
A feeling ever known but never spoke
As wisps of silver lines in parting drew

Away into the stunning endless sky
O’er mountains aged and worn where time does lie
